On a beautiful Saturday morning in late-October, Scouts from Pack 457 met at Lake Needwood in Rock Creek Regional Park.  The Scouts had the opportunity to either hike a 1.5-mile trail around Lake Needwood, or to go on a bike ride on the Rock Creek Trail.

With weather conditions almost perfect with blue skies and a nice breeze, leaders from Pack 457 led both adventures. The Scouts were able to see the beautiful fall colors of the changing leaves in the region as well as some wildlife such as ducks in the lake. The hikers stopped for a nutritious snack at the half-way point of the hike, and took some time to play by the lake’s edge.

After completing the hike and bike, all the Scouts enjoyed a Rice Krispy treat and talked of their adventures. All the Scouts and Leaders are looking forward to next year’s hike and bike!.
