Who We Are

Cub Scout Pack 457 serves boys ages 7 through 10, or grades 1 through 5, in the Flower Valley area of Rockville, Maryland.

Cub Scouting has program components, called dens, consisting of a neighborhood group of six to eight boys.

Tiger Cubs (first-grade boys) meet twice a month, while Wolf Cub Scouts (second graders), Bear Cub Scouts (third graders), and Webelos Scouts (fourth and fifth graders) meet weekly.

Once a month, all of the dens and family members gather for a pack meeting under the direction of the Cubmaster and Pack Committee.

Pack meetings are held monthly from September through June usually in the General Purpose Room of Flower Valley School, Sunflower Ave, Rockville, MD. We also have at least one Pack event in July and August. See the Pack Calendar for exact dates.

Our Chartering Partner is St. Patrick's Church of Rockville.

Cub Scout Pack 457 is part of the Crossroads District , National Capital Area Council, Boy Scouts of America

Pack Dues covers National and Council membership dues, Boy's Life Magazine, insurance, and pack expenses such as advancements, pack numbers for uniforms, quality unit awards, neckerchiefs on advancement (not their initial neckerchief), one "Class B" Pack t-shirt, Wintertime Pack Bowling Party, Blue & Gold Expenses, Pinewood Derby, monthly pack meeting expenses including room rental, and June picnic expenses. These expenses are subsidized by the income from the Pack's single fund raising activity, which is selling popcorn in the Fall. As comprehensive as this is, the Pack Dues and the fund raiser do not cover everything we schedule or do, as Scouts will be called upon to pay for crafts and supplies in their dens, and for certain activities such as MD Science Center sleepover for Webelos, Webelos Weekend, Physical Fitness Day, Cub Scout Activity Day, Tiger Hunt, Holly TrolleyFest and other events that the entire pack does not participate in.
